Job description:
Within the New Caledonia representation, under the joint responsibility of the two project managers of the steering committee, the mesocenter production manager guarantees the implementation of technical solution deployment guidelines in accordance with the missions defined by the steering committee. In addition to his/her ability to deploy HPC services, he/she will be required to carry out system administration and development tasks, and will report on his/her activities to the two steering committee project managers. Activities : Participate in the design and installation of the physical computing and storage infrastructure Participate in the design and implementation of HPC computing environments Ensure production start-up, interconnection, and consistency of CRESICA storage spaces and equipment hosted on the UNC site Participate in the design and ensure the production of the data backup policy Train, facilitate and promote the use of the mesocenter among all CRESICA member researchers and regional partners Ensure a technology watch. Service offering: Local assistance and advice to scientists on the services made available by the mesocenter. Mesocenter security: Application and implementation of security measures Local communications relay, SSI awareness, dissemination of SSI culture. Sharing and feedback on the application of security measures. Quality and continuous improvement: Ensure compliance with the mesocentre's quality assurance and security procedures and methods. Make proposals to improve the quality of service provided to users. Deploy a range of services and provide support to CRESICA members' researchers in order to develop its use by a large proportion of them. Know how to plan one's activity and give visibility to it. Master the processes of a center offering a support service. Technical skills on the different bricks of the information system
Essential skills: - Significant experience in deploying an HPC cluster with slurm - Knowledge of supervision and network standards. - Confirmed mastery of Linux systems (Redhat & Debian) - Knowledge of programming languages: Bash / Python - Mastery of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible, Chef or Puppet Desired skills : - A culture of scientific modeling and development methods - Skills in virtualization (vmware / proxmox) and docker deployment (kubernetes) - Knowledge of backup management - Experience in VPN client deployment and simple Cisco switch administration - Experience in DBMS administration Additional assets: - Knowledge of programming languages: Perl / PHP. - Knowledge of WEB development and/or GIS is a plus for scientific assistance. Aptitudes: - Ability to manage several dossiers simultaneously and be accountable. - Customer service and results-oriented. - Thoroughness and precision, autonomy. - Writing and communication skills. Taste for teamwork. - Ability to make proposals. With a minimum of 5 years' higher education in IT, you have at least 2 years' experience in an identical or similar position. You have developed recognized technical skills and successfully completed projects as part of a team. You will be able to work independently in a short space of time on an information system with heterogeneous workstations. You will enjoy working with users. You will have an interest in science and be able to keep abreast of technological developments, so as to be able to put forward innovative ideas. Job environment and working relationships: - Frequent travel to CRESICA's various partner sites - Collaboration with other mesocentres in mainland France and with the DDUNI central services at the IRD.
