Job description:
Reporting to the scientific coordinator of Ob7's "Scientific Computing" department, your mission will be to integrate the observatory's data into the RDBES (Regional Data Base and Estimation System) data model developed by the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES). The aim is to meet a need for data sharing between European scientific partners, as part of the regional working group (RCG LP) and with IFREMER's HISSEO unit. Your activities will include: Implementing, adapting and administering the RDBES database (collection, storage, validation and dissemination of fisheries data). Guaranteeing data consistency, quality and security, in line with European and international regulations. Ensure the deployment and maintenance of RDBES in the information system. Develop ETL (Extract, Transfer, Loading) R scripts for data management. Participate in technical acceptance tests and document procedures. Participate in work meetings in European groups (RCG) dedicated to RDBES. Your future team You will be based in Sète as part of a dynamic team of 15 people.
You have developed the following skills: Administer and optimize a database system (expertise). Model and design technical architectures and databases (mastery). Master script development in R and automation tools. Develop and implement test plans and production procedures. Write and update technical and functional documentation. Work in a multidisciplinary team and support change. Proficiency in SQL and ability to write complex queries. Knowledge and ability to apply a programming methodology. Knowledge of database management systems (SQL, PostgreSQL). Knowledge of the fisheries sector and related data management processes (knowledge of scientific issues). You have the following human qualities: Thoroughness. Initiative. Autonomy. Good multidisciplinary and multicultural teamwork skills. English level C1, oral and written expression and comprehension.
